NEW Advanced User App for SmartThings Web!

Just connected my fridge to SmartThings but I need to change the device type to get it working in Home Assistant - I keep being directed to the IDE to do this, but it seems you’re now forcing this new advanced ui on us, and I can’t see how to do this in the new UI?

There isn’t a way to change the device type any longer and there really shouldn’t be. The fridge integrates through the OCF protocol so it gets its presentation based on the OCF device profile. If you could change that, it would break what commands are available as well as what’s presented for automations.

Your best bet is using a virtual device depending on what you are trying to accomplish. The vEdge Creator driver supports a virtual refrigerator.

Do virtual devices show up on “Device control” available on Samsung phones? I’ve created a few different types and I don’t see them showing up.

I checked and they don’t show up on my Samsung phone either.

The ones I’ve created with the vEdge Creator show up on my Galaxy Tab S5e.

I meant those devices which device type is VIRTUAL.

I just used this new web UI to change drivers on a number of devices so I have another change that would be helpful:

The driver list drop-down should only list drivers that are compatible with the device! It seems to show every installed driver. So, for example, ZigBee Switch was listed when I was setting the driver for a Z-Wave device.

Or perhaps gray out the incompatible drivers - it might be helpful to know that you did in fact successfully install the driver you meant to, but it’s not going to work with the switch you wanted to use it on.

Is anyone else seeing reboot (and other functions) in there now or am I late the game?

Think these were just added in the last day or so.

A big thank you to SmartThings for getting that update in. I’m not sure how web app updates ar3 promoted, but always enjoy reading good news. Hopefully we will see these enhancements communicated here and we can all celebrate small wins.

Sorry if this has been already been covered, but is there a way in the web app (or CLI?) to find the mapping between an installed driver and its corresponding channel? I see that driver and channel info is presented in the Hub page, but I don’t see any mapping between the two.

I’m basically looking for a simple way to answer “where did this driver come from?”… I can open each channel’s link and check its list of enrolled drivers and compare that to the hub’s installed driver list, but I’m hoping a simpler method exists.

thanks!

If you use @TAustin 's SmartThings API Browser+, you can select Locations, then Hubs. Select your hub and tap Installed Drivers for a list of all installed drivers including the associated Channel.

My zigbee Channel is 19 are they all different?

Your Zigbee channel can be anything from 11 to 26. The hub selects the channel with the least interference at the time that you set it up.

Doesn’t look like it currently does. As others have said, API Browser+ provides the association.

@nayelyz They should probably include the driver channel ID and link with each driver in the Installed Drivers section.

I can see it in the app if that’s helpful. Maybe I’m missing how you get that info but it’s in the app for sure. Then if you scroll further down, you can see all the channel names.

That works too - never thought to check the app itself
