NEW Advanced User App for SmartThings Web!

Thanks jpk…

I said linked to github but what I’ve actually had in mine was code copied into drivers and apps I published in mine. I don’t see the half a dozen I had before or where to recreate those in this new app but I’ll look again.

@nayelyz
I need to change my ZigBee channel on a development hub for testing purposes. When will we be able to do to this on the Advanced User App or the mobile app?

I would like to 3rd the notion mention already for -

(copied) Several very important items missing from the new Advanced Web App:

  • Z-Wave and Zigbee Utilities
  • Z-Wave and Zigbee Route Mapping
  • Hub commands (ping, reboot, etc)
  • Hub event logging
  • Z-Wave and Zigbee network ID for devices
  • Ability to send hub logs to support

The Z-repair utilities and a reboot function are really important.

When, or if, will these functions become available?

There are a few bits available in the hub settings from the app, hopefully missing options will appear in the same section

Hi, @csstup. I don’t have information about that, only that this item is included in the feature requests list.

Probably right after they restore the ability to select what devices you expose to Alexa or Google.

Did you try to pair a zwave device if it work ??

It doesn’t have a Z wave radio, so it can’t work. I don’t know whether it will say that it did, but physically it can’t.

While I’ve made a lot of suggestions above (critically the missing reboot, I see that the hub logs feature has been implemented) - I want to acknowledge the awesomeness of this new Advanced user interface, it’s fabulous in what it can do, really enjoying it. With a few tweaks and features as suggested above it can be a total replacement for the IDE and a rock star in it’s own respect! Great job to the team responsible and the entire ST staff (@alissa.dornbos @nayelyz please pass it onto the relevant teams)

I also must complement the team on this new advanced web. One or two tweaks and it will be perfect.

now for rebot the hub the unique solution is disconnect and riconnect the power supply?

That is not an easy option for me my hub is in my attic

Only option at the moment. Maybe turn off the breaker for the outlet?

If I’m desperate that’s what I do but it is a PITA as one side effect is that some Sonoff relays are on the same circuit and sometimes they don’t reconnect which blows up my Zigbee network but I have not had to reboot it since the last couple of firmware updates. As soon as I can reboot it remotely I want to start getting some logs to @blueyetisoftware for my Bond ceiling fan to hopeful solve the disconnect at reboot as it is the only device I have that uses the cloud other than the phone’s presence.

I have mine on a Wi-Fi plug (tplink). That way I can control it with Tplink and reboot it. Would love a reboot option but this seems to the best option currently

Please be careful when cutting power suddenly and then re powering, electrical items do not like this and will fail, not if but when

Any advice on rebooting hubs due to the continued changes should be wait for the reboot option to be included by ST in a near future app or advanced Web app upgrade

To put this into perspective, prior to the new architecture changes a reboot was extremely rare, i now see it advised constantly. If at all possible, do not do it, wait for the software version to re appear

If using a V2 hub which is pretty old now and still arguably the best hub, there are no alternative spec hubs except a hit and miss second hand one, be warned

You are 100% correct, I made that mistake
