Nest shows under "Family"

Using this device type: https://github.com/smartthings-users/device-type.nest

The Nest shows up under my “Family” section in the SmartThings iOS app, next to my iPhones. Seems kinda weird. Any way to get that fixed?

Also, is that the “latest”/“best” device type file for Nest thermostats? What about the Nest Protect?

Thanks!

It probably has a presence attribute, that’s what the family category is for. Anything which tracks presence as home or away will show up under family.

Wow that makes total sense. Didn’t even think of that. Thanks!

Thank you!

Nest-Manager does support adding nest as a Presence device. It is actually a full functional presence device and it matches the look of other presence devices. If you don’t want it, you can not enable that feature.
