Multi Purpose Sensor - Use as a Garage Door Tilt Sensor

I worked with @Mariano_Colmenarejo and he fixed the Zigbee Contact Mc driver to add the garage setting and it works like a charm.

Thank you @Mariano_Colmenarejo so much for your good work and efforts.

Thank you…

Hi,

I am not a developer but trying to get this to work and am stuck. Is there an updated way to get the SmartThings sensor as a tilt sensor? This used to work for me just fine, but with the latest update I finally got around to applying - it is now broken. It’s stuck reporting to open and the only option I have to change a setting is “Offset - temperature” which isn’t helful. Can I change the driver somehow myself?

Which Edge Driver are you using?

If you are not using the ZigBee Contact Mc driver give it a try. You can get it at.

Thanks for the quick reply Paul!

I switched to that driver and enabled the garage setting but now cant figure out how to position the sensor to report as “closed”

Any advice? This is where it was placed previously and worked fine

I believe the sensor should be on the top section of the door. That section is only vertical when the door is closed.

If you install the sensor along the edge of the door you should also be able to use the magnetic contact sensor to indicate it is closed. Some wood blocking or brackets may be needed to do that.
