Jason and Brian,
Update to this post: You are correct. All is working. What I learned was, after implementing the “Enhanced Dimmer” function, once you change the parameters via the Gear Icon on the smartphone app, you then have to also push the “configure” button…as this then updates all the settings. I was missing that portion and could not figure out why the light’s behaviors were not changing. But after reviewing the “Enhanced Dimmer” code…the “configure” push button is part of the key - it must be pressed.
Good Day,
Have installed several more GE (Jasco) dimmers and applied the enhanced dimmer. All work well.
But, something is strange to me.
Once the enhanced dimmer code is applied and going back to the smartthings app, there is now an additional button called: Configure (with a crossed tools symbol), but when I push it, nothing happens. I can turn on and off the light, dim / brighten the light…and the Gear Icon shows new features.
Hey all, old thread, but I’m struggling with setting these parameters in the new app. I set them in the old app a while ago. I’ve tried setting them in the new app as well as the IDE and it says that the settings are there, but the behavior of the switch is not changing. I’m trying to change the ‘manual ramp steps’ and ‘manual ramp duration’ to slowly increase the light brightness when using the toggle itself. Thanks for any help that you can provide
It’s been awhile since I messed with this, so I can’t remember if I ever got this to successfully work in the new app. What I do remember is that you needed to hit a button (maybe the configure button?) to actually push the setting changes to the switch. Simply changing the thresholds did not immediately make them apply.
Yeah, looking back that’s what I saw also. I don’t see the configure button on the new app. I was trying to see if there was something on the IDE to commit the change. I didn’t see anything in there either.
