One reason I’ve been reluctant to transition from the v1 to the v2 Hub is knowing I have to basically disassemble and reassemble my entire SmartThings setup just to switch hubs. I would love to see an “automated migration assistant process” happen to effortlessly transition from the v1 to v2 Hub. How it would work is someone plugs a v2 Hub onto the same network as the v1 Hub and open the SmartThings app. The app would detect the v2 Hub on the network and ask “Do you want to migrate your SmartThings configuration over to the new hub?”. Tapping yes would copy all of the custom settings/apps over to the new hub and unpair all devices from the old hub and re-pair and re-configure them with the new hub. SmartThings services would be unavailable during the migration, but it would sure make migration to a new hub totally effortless.
