Really interested in how well these work in typical German distribution cabinets. Most of these are metal all around.
Maybe it will be one big Thread network and maybe it wonât. Eero supports Thread 1.4 but doesnât expose any way to unify their Thread network with another. Weâll see what Apple and Google do.
Letâs keep an eye on Alexa too; being able to join the ST Thread mesh with the one erected by the Echos in the house would be relevant for quite a few people.
Alexa doesnât even share its credentials with the Android keychain. I donât expect much from them.

iHost received an update today that started exporting cameras to SmartThings! So far itâs working great!
@Andreas_Roedl Since youâre quite familiar with cameras in SmartThings, were you able to enable recording and use of those cameras in automation when you tested them?

Quite an open question. Depends on what the integration offers/exposes. If you are talking about Matter cameras: Iâve only tested the Aqara G350 and thereâs not much more than streaming. They pinky-promised to release a firmware update later this year with more features.

Because to open the camera meter I had to install a recording plugin, but I didnât find anything different!
The question is more about whether it could take a snapshot or record based on a sensor outside the camera.
Yes, but only for supported cameras. I have several cameras and only my Aeotec Cam 360s are supported. Pretty sure that some Samsung devices (doorbells and such) are also supported.
I thought Samsung was going to make this available to all Camera Matters! It would be great to have this for those Camera Matters!
