Remember though, sometimes they need to dump 10,000 items that are about to be replaced by a newer version and salvaging ANY money out of them is worth more than the dumpster. They could be scamming US for our mutual benefit. Computerized devices go through these phases, especially embedded systems that are not field upgradeable.
I agree. The orders I have placed never are shipped from the store I purchased them from. They always come from a store within my state. Usually a north Houston location on Kuykendahl RD fulfills my order and ships it to Austin.
Are you seeing better results with splitting up quantities or just updating to the quantity in a single line item. Split a couple orders into multiple line items and have been getting a higher number of delayed order emails.
IMHO, there is 1-2 stores in each area that fulfill âMOSTâ of the online orders. My local store is NOT one of them. 90% of my orders are shipped from fulfillment stores in RI or CT. Occasionally they ship from outside the area. Gafney Dimmers are coming from Newton NC ,whereas they Waycross Switches shipped from the ( semi) Local fulfillment store in Willington CT. It is usually Willington CT or Smithfield RI that mine come from.
I think the orders being cancelled are ones where the order gets picked up by a store that doesnât normally fulfill orders. Maybe they have an excess stock ( not necessarily clearanced ) so the system flags them to fill it (?) . The warehouse person at that store actually looks at the order rather than simply throwing the items in a box and notices that the price is " wrong" .
It does seem like they have caught on. I was able to get a few things at discounted prices, such as some 4x10 Keen vents and some GE switches, but now when I attempt to order any additional items that are discounted they get cancelled. Iâve re-attempted multiple times with similar responses such as the below from their internet fulfillment department:

I placed several orders from Waycross and Gaffney on Friday and received shipping notifications for both dimmers and on/off switches yesterday. I should get them this week. I order 5 of each and one order they shipped all 5, while the other order they broke up into two separate shipments.
I am still waiting for my add/on aux switch orders to go through. I also have 2 more orders of 5 on/off switches placed and am waiting. Once these are done every switch in my house will be outfitted
Finding anything new? Havenât seen much changing in new availability. Not many 2$ switches.

I would be surprised if each store had someone dedicated just to internet sales, when it would make more sense for a centralized or regional model (or better yet, automated) system. It would cost less for Lowes to hire one person to be in charge of 50 stores, than to hire 50 people, each with their own store. If they follow like other retail operations, there would be company wide clearance (like PlantLink), and then they would also have the ability to do their own clearance (i.e. plants).
There is more than likely some algorithm in place that takes the price of the item you bought, and figures out the cheapest shipping for them (they would have an opportunity to make that a profit opportunity), and also calculates the cost of selling the actual item. If the algorithm getâs below a certain profit price (cost +x%), they wonât sell it to you automatically, and require a manual approval from someone (the hold notice), and then if it gets to the minimum level profit price (or if itâs sold at a loss), theyâll cancel the order.
Not to sure about flagging unprofitable orders. 13$ smart vents and 2$ switches arenât profitable in any scenario. I think itâs completely human intervention that gets an order canceled.

I forgot, but I just checked and the cheapest now is Gaffney at $7.48. I guess I got lucky. It was so cheap I even paid the $5.99 shipping as I didnât want to screw the order up by adding more stuff which seems to throw things off sometimes.

I tried replacing a cpl orders that were canceled by not signing in, using a different email, and even using a credit card billed to a different state. Made no difference for me.
Iâve added random items (even a single $0.07 flat washer) to hit the $60/$65 mark in order to get free shipping and use a Renovo code. Received orders no problem.
If the price is ridiculously low like a Keen vent for $15 I found that ordering a single or 2 items and foregoing any discount finally got my order through.
@Toasty tried 3 times to order vents form Philly for me after my orders kept being canceled. I went back a placed 2 orders for 1 vent and they went through. Still waiting to the status of the order with 2.
