Looking for a humidifier that works with SmartThings

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a humidifier for two bedrooms, including a child’s bedroom.

I already have SmartThings humidity sensors in both rooms, so what I need is quite simple:

The humidifier should be controllable directly from SmartThings (ON/OFF).

I want to create SmartThings routines based on my existing humidity sensors, for example:

below 45% humidity → turn humidifier ON

above 50% → turn humidifier OFF

I do not want to buy an additional hub or smart plug.

I’m located in Germany, so the device should be available to buy in Europe/Germany.

A nice-looking, relatively small humidifier would be preferred, especially for a child’s bedroom.

I noticed that Govee appears in SmartThings when using my German Samsung/SmartThings account, but I cannot see Govee with my Latvian account. I also have some older Govee outdoor lights, but they don’t appear in SmartThings.

Has anyone here actually connected a humidifier to SmartThings and successfully used it in routines based on a SmartThings humidity sensor?

I’d especially appreciate specific brand + model numbers that are currently working.

Thanks!

Yeah, I’d actually go the other way on this.

Trying to recreate the whole humidity control loop in SmartThings routines usually turns into a mess pretty quickly. It’s the same thing people do with smart thermostat radiator valves: they buy a device that already has proper local control, then spend forever fighting it with external sensors and routines. The humidifier already has a humidity sensor and a control loop built in (hysteresis, cycling, safety stuff, etc.). That’s literally its job.

If you push the logic into SmartThings (“below 45 % → ON, above 50 % → OFF”) you immediately get sensor lag, delays, and the occasional conflicting command when the device’s own logic is also running.

Better approach: buy a humidifier that has solid built-in humidity control, looks decent and is reasonably quiet/compact, and just exposes a clean on/off (or power/mode). Prefer Matter (requires a SmartThings hub) or a supportef cloud integration. Then let the device itself keep the room in the 45–50 % range and only use SmartThings for remote on/off, status, or a simple “everything off when we leave” routine.

Basically treat it like a good smart TRV: give it the target range, let it do its job locally, and keep SmartThings as the remote control layer instead of a second (worse) controller. Far less hassle in the long run.

Miro SmartHome is one of the few brands listed on the official SmartThings partners page with humidifier models. These connect via the Miro SmartHome / miroT integration and show up as proper humidifier devices.

SwitchBot Evaporative Humidifier (and the auto-refill version) is Matter-certified, but you’ll need a SmartThings hub.

Forgot to mention that Samsung also has dehumidifiers:

Thanks for the information!

I’ve looked into the Miro option, but unfortunately it seems to be quite difficult to buy the Miro humidifiers in Germany/Europe. The same seems to be the case with Samsung humidifiers — I haven’t been able to find a suitable model available here.

Regarding the SwitchBot Evaporative Humidifier: I already have a SmartThings Hub. Does the SwitchBot humidifier require an additional SwitchBot Hub as well, or would my existing SmartThings Hub be enough to connect it through Matter?

I’m trying to avoid buying another hub if possible.

… and air purifiers. It’s as if they don’t want to sell their products.

As for the other questions: please do your own research. Switchbot has a website.
