Logging from Multipurpose sensor to sheet

I am wanting to log temperature from a Smartthings multipurpose sensor. Ideally this would be a continuous log that I could plot on a graph and see trends over time.

I have seen some posts of indications that using IFTTT and a spreadsheet on Dropbox is possible. I am yet to figure out how to get this done.

Can anyone point me to a fairly specific step by step on how to achieve this logging (with or without using IFTTT)?
