Iris Motion Sensor stops reporting to ST

I have an Iris motion sensor that has started rebelling over the last couple days. I bought it last week and it was working flawlessly, until a couple days ago when it stopped reporting in. I have to remove the battery to get it to function properly again.

Also, the battery drain has been 10-15% per day in a fairly low traffic area. The battery drain seems to happen during these phases where it refuses to report. 3 days ago, the battery was at 100%. Now, it is down to 67%.

Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?

If it’s still within its return window, I would recommend that you get a new one. I’ve had two motion sensors fail after a year or 18 months (one SmartThings, one Iris) and they would simply stop reporting.

I have a bunch of these. Two of them work flawlessly. Two have already been returned and replaced for battery drainiage issues. I moved one of them across the room (monitoring a window intrusion entry - so very little traffic), and it appears to have helped a bit.

The two which work flawlessly are also at the furthest point in the house from the hub.

Agree with Dan, return the draining ones, and then try a repositioning to see if that provides some relief.
