I’m trying to turn off or change status to away if doors are left open longer than 3 to 5 minutes. So not to be running cooling. I found old post but seem to be dated anything new? I don’t want to spend the money on a security scription with ecobee that’s ridiculous!
If you want to turn it off, Andrew’s Routine is how I’d approach it. Unfortunately, you can’t set modes via ST directly. However, you can use Alexa with the Ecobee skill. With a similar Routine, you can use a virtual switch turning on/off to trigger away/home mode Alexa routines that use custom actions.
