Integration with AT&T digital life

So I’ve moved my home cloud hub to a VM on my NAS device. Works perfectly there also.

I followed the instruction on your github page… and I feel that I am very close… but it’s not quite working yet. Would you be able to help please?

 • I installed app (enabled Oauth), device types
 • installed homecoudhub on a Pi3
 • set up the app and entered credentials for ATT Digital Life → Done → Done → Error Message.

Here are the logs:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ homecloudhub

please run ls -ltr /var/node/homecloudhub.local/config/homecloudhub.json

and paste the output. I am guessing the script isn’t executable by the user you’re running it as.

Ha! Edit… I just solved this (so proud! I have not done any coding for more than 15 years!)

I got one step forward and this did the magic:
sudo chmod a=rwx /var/node/homecloudhub.local/config/homecloudhub.json

I received a timeout error but was not able to replicate…

All my ATT devices loaded into Smartthings and are reporting!

Awesome work - thank you! I will report back after further testing.

Sorry… another q:

I am trying to set it up as a systemservice.

I am following all the steps in your README and used nano to create the files…

“sudo systemctl enable homecloudhub” gets me the error message “Failed to execute operation: No such file or directory”

Yeah. I had the same problem. The OS the walk through was written for didn’t require the .service extension on the file. I had to name my file the following:

/etc/systemd/system/homecloudhub.service

Then run
sudo systemctl enable homecloudhub
Awesome… yes that works! It is running fine now! Thanks for the help!

Installing it on a PI3 with wifi is great! I can just plug it into any outlet and don’t need any additional cables…

@ady624 I managed to get this installed and have all the devices listed. How do you actually arm/disarm the system? When I click on the device for the system, I can see the battery and lan/wan status, but no arm/disarm. Thank you

Look for the Digital Life System, not the DLC

I did find that eventually, thank you. Is there a way to use the switch as a disarmed/instant?

The connection is working pretty well overall. However, every couple of hrs the Smartthings DLS sends an armed notification ant then a disarmed notification… The actual Digital Life system does not arm/disarm in these instances… Any idea why this is happening?

Do you have SHM configured? Mine did that also. I had to disable SHM because it was freaking out.

I have the exact same problem, am still trying to figure out if it’s really AT&T or SHM. This started a few days ago, at the same time with AT&T Digital Life having connection issues - their website doesn’t work at this time, tried to get to the login page from three different locations. Getting random errors. I think AT&T is having some issues, sending messages down the pipe that are not really mine. I got an alarm pending from AT&T and also a bypassed device with an id that isn’t mine. That came down the persistent connection with AT&T. That device was not mine, they all have a unique ID (except for the digital life system that has AM00000004). Weird stuff with AT&T these past four-five days.

Just found this - AT&T Digital Life is down - they’re allegedly having a large update on the system. Something tells me what they really mean is “our servers are down, we lost some data, working hard to recover it and chase the hackers out. We unplugged the server so that they can’t do more damage” LOL - but that’s just my speculation he he

I just talked to AT&T. They expect more down time, 15min to 2 hours. Fun fact is that I was not able to arm my alarm through the phone or the web portal. Tried for two hours… I managed to arm it through the SmartThings instead LOL. Went to the Smart Apps, reconfigured the Home Cloud Hub app (went through Next Next Next). You’ll see the Next on the local server page won’t work - it’s because it times out logging in to AT&T - just be persistent. Then when it finally worked, went to the Digital Life System thing really fast and hit Away several times  Managed to arm the alarm as I am not home. AT&T should communicate better when they have issues like this one…

Thanks for the responses. I deleted SHM security about a month ago when all the trouble with it started, so I don’t think that’s it. I just checked and I am having the same problems with the my-digitallife.att.com web site and with the Digital Life mobile app. I just hope it’s not due to the frequent authentication requests we sent…, :sunglasses:

We’re not the only ones. And AT&T confirmed to me over the phone they have a major “system update”. Being an IT guy, I know that’s placeholder for “some servers whacked out on us - we’re sending a slow boat there to patch’em up”.

… Yeah, I know who my wife will blame for this. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Of course, you had to meddle with it, didn’t you?! Now it’s no longer working!   I can hear that in my ear right now. Just as if it happened…

Ok, so now they finally acknowledged the problem online:
