So I’m not sure exactly what I should search for. But basically I’m looking for a space or ZigBee unit that I can keep in the wall that I can power via 110AC but triggers a Normally open relay to close a low voltage DC circuit. I live in an old apartment with a bell system that the door open is triggered by a momentary connection of the circuit and then it buzzes the doors open for like 30s. So I’m looking for something to smartify that.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
The Shelly 1 relay might be able to do what you want.
It is WiFi not Zigbee, but there is an Edge Driver to make it work locally with ST.
I am not exactly sure what you mean by “keep in the wall” and don’t fully understand what you’re trying to accomplish, but take a look at this 120 VAC relay. This has a pair of dry contacts, NO and NC. The status of the contacts flip flop based upon whether or not 120 VAC power is applied. I use it to detect a power outage with the contacts connected to a Zigbee sensor with dry contacts.

Basically i wanted to run a line of Romex and tap off of a nearby light switch and have a zwave/ZigBee hell even wifi brain be powered by that 110v tap, and then control a 24v line that is the door opening switch. Excuse the crude drawing but kind like what I drew.
Looks like Enerwave, Zooz, Shelly all make what you are looking for.
Maybe I’m missing something but don’t all of those general in wall units use power from and switch the ~120ac. ?
Some of them are. But the Zooz should fit the bill.
