Last night, out of the 2 IKEA lamps (KAJPLATS E14 CWS globe 806lm) in the kitchen (matter connected to Aeotec hub), both of them lost connection due to internet interruptions. This morning, after adding one again, it worked, but the other one doesn’t work at all. I’ve already deleted it from the smart thing, but nothing after the QR code… is there a solution for this or should I buy a new one?
Almost certainly, the solution lies in building a solid Thread mesh with enough router devices and checking the Thread and LAN coverage throughout your home.
You could try buying a new device, but there’s a good chance you’d end up with the same frustration. It took me a few weeks to get my Thread network working reliably because it doesn’t behave like ‘traditional’ Wi-Fi or Zigbee networks. Once the mesh was properly established, however, everything became much more stable.
Based on my experience, it’s rarely the IKEA hardware that’s to blame.
