I have my outside lights setup to turn on with motion detection on the Ring Doorbell. Then after 10 minute with no motion they turn off and reset.
What I am hoping to do is to have this happen between say 10PM and 6AM. If the light are turned outside of that they stay on until 10PM then kick into the motion routine.
I’m messed up on the logic to do this in SMARTTHINGS.
Hi Mike, if I have understood you correctly, it should be a pretty simple 2-stage process.
set up your nightime motion routine in Smart Lighting. “Only during these times” is under More Options. If you don’t have Smart Lighting in your region, you can set the time as a precondition to a normal routine that turns on the light with motion, and turns off after 10 minutes.
In the light itself, set it to turn off at 10:00pm every day.
I have the same nighttime Smart Lighting Routines setup, but I noticed that sometimes the Ring motion doesn’t get sent to SmartThings and so the outside lights didn’t come on. So I’ve setup the nighttime restricted Routines in Alexa as well.
