Help with Den Smart Switches etc - anyone know if are these now completely redundant and useless

I have found a selection of Den smart light switches, double plug wall sockets, a hub, a remote and a remote pir type switch. I cannot seem to find anything about these or where to try and connect them. They seem to work but there is no means to activate the hub nor then connect the devices . Has anyone any help or pointers about the devices or whether they are now just redundant and useless. Cheers.

Den automation went out of business several years ago. Their devices used a proprietary protocol, not compatible with smartthings or pretty much anything else except the voice assistants, so they require their own hub and their own app, both of which stopped working when the company shut down.

So there is no way to use them with smartthings or anything else, even their own hub. :anxious_face_with_sweat:

Den’s switches used a proprietary wireless protocol developed in-house that wasn’t compatible with any of the existing standards, like Zigbee or Z-Wave.

Many thanks for that feedback. I had feared this might be the case but was struggling to find anything conclusive. They will just get used, maybe, as switches and sockets with no smart capability. It’s a shame there is no way to crack them and get them to function with anything else. Are there any other forums of ‘smart’ people who may had achieved something?

You could try the Reddit home automation sub, they cover all platforms.

Cheers. Will give it a try.
