Family room has Cans lights and I want a ZWAVE Dimmer on it.
Bar area has Cans Lights and I want a ZWAVE Dimmer on it. There are ZWAVE ADD ON boxes to control on/off in Bedroom1 and Bedroom 2
Regular Rocker switch to control stairs light
Wall plug below Gang for light switches
-There is 1 line in (Hot Power) for ALL. As pictured there are traveler wires on the wires for the ZWAVE Dimmer for the Bar Cans. And a Traveler for stair way light. There is a black and wire direct to wall plug, Sorry for bad drawing but it represents the config.
I do have it mostly working. BUT I’d prefer someone with some real expertise giving me the proper wiring.
In my current config, the switches all work, and both dimmers work. Things that aren’t quite right - the blue light on the ZWAVE switch in gang for Bar Cans light doesn’t light up, but switch works. Both add on zwave boxes in the bedrooms 1 and 2 do turn the Bar canes on and off. The wall plug does some really weird stuff as far as power goes, seems to be on the bar dimmer. Lastly I haven’t tried to program zwave remote yet.
So, as I said, if some expert can give me the proper wiring I’d appreciate it.
If I am looking at the picture right it appears the white wire heading to that wall outlet is going into the stairway switch. If that is correct then that would explain why you are having strange issues.
So, I did figure this out. BTW get the WAGO lever nuts, Amazon, their wonderful.
1- Bundle all white wires from Zwave switches and 4 way rocker switch and wall plug together . You will need a pigtail from the white wire bundle for EACH Zwave switch and the regular rocker switch and wall plug. Here’s where the WAGO’s are wonderful.
2- For Family room light. From the black LINE (POWER) into LINE screw on Zwave switch 1. A white wire pigtail wire to neutral on Zwave switch 1. If you have Add on Zwave switches, plug the red wire into TRAVLER on Zwave switch 1.
3- For Bar Cans. From Zwave switch 1 LOAD to Zwave switch 2 LINE. Again, white wire pigtale to Zwave switch 2. TRAVLER if needed for ADD ON switches. I used TRAVLER for the add on switches for bedroom 1 and 2.
4-For stairway light. From ZWave switch 2 LOAD to 4-way rocker switch LINE. TRAVLER if needed and white wire pigtale.
So, by now you should see the wiring pattern needed for this type of setup.
Basically, LINE to LINE, LOAD to LINE, LOAD to LINE, and so on.
