I have a couple of heatit z-trm3 and I can’t find a way to add them to SmartThings even though they’re advertised as z-wave devices. Does one need specific device handlers or something or should should it work out of the box with SmartThings.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
@rboy has a library of custom code behind a paywall that includes a DTH for this device. You pay a one time fee per hub and then you get access to all the code. It’s a very popular option for people who need features not available through the official smartthings app. I don’t know if you would be interested in that, but here’s the thread:
I know @RBoy worked with the device manufacturer to create that code, I’m not sure the device works with vanilla smartthings, there seem to be some idiosyncrasies to it.

Yes most of the devices require a custom DTH for various reasons
Thanks @JDRoberts
I’ll have a look but I am not considering a paying option really. If I can make it work with free options, I’ll be happy. Otherwise it just stays like that
Cheers
