You should define “work” a little. Do you mean be able to work with a particular smartapp on ST without a custom device handler.
Just curious why you wouldn’t want to use a custom device handler for this?
Work; integration with SmartThings and provide basic functions while not requiring a custom DH.
It’s my understanding, correct me if I’m wrong, that if you use the built in device handler you will continue to have some automation functions because it will be running locally.
I just installed one today and I can confirm it works with the default discovered DTH which is the Dimmer Switch. I saw at one time someone had made an enhanced DTH that was basically off the same dimmer dth but had improved control layout for the fan.
