The delay varies depending on the service/channel selected and also from house to house.
At my house, it’s a pretty consistent eight second delay, which is fine for things like “turn on the lights at sunset” but wouldn’t work for having a motion sensor trigger a light coming on when someone walks into a room.
Some people report almost no apparent delay, some people up to a couple of minutes. Really you just need to try it for yourself and see how it works at your house.
