Error message when trying to pair Garmin watch

When I’m trying to connect my Garmin watch with the mobile app, I’m being redirected from Garmin connect and then promoted to login with Google. Then I get this message “to complete pairing, open the garmin connect app”. How am I supposed to login and sync my watch?
