(EDGE Driver-Mc) Solar Energy. Zigbee Power/Meter Mc and Z-Wave Electric Meter Mc drivers

Happy New Year @johnconstantelo

Fixed an error in profile componente clamp B, tile group.

I think now it must work fine

Thanks for report issue

I can’t test now, device is in other location

Hi @Mariano_Colmenarejo

using an Aeotec HomeEnergyMeter Gen5 for measuring my solar production, I stumble regarding two little issues.

The Gen5 is certified to work with the ST Energy App. It sends measurements with regards to its parameters. Right now, I am using the dedicated Aeotec HomeEnergyMeter Gen5 Edge driver.

  1. I can see positive or negative numbers in the device tile (“Balkon Solar” = Gen5), depending on my parameters and report settings. I am not sure, if I /the device have to deliver positive or negativ numbers for the Energy Service to be used.
  2. I can use and choose this device (“Balkon Solar”) within the Energy Service as “solar production measurment” via the Energy Service settings.
  3. I do not see any numbers in the several solarproductions sections of the Energy Service though. Sun is shining. Numbers coming in every 60 seconds via the Gen5. But no report or numbers in the Energy Service stats.

Any ideas, what to do?
Samsung support seems to be helpless with this kind of question; I tried 4 times today already.

I use a Gen5 one clamp meter with the Z-Wave Electric Meter MC driver, and it works perfectly with SmartThings Energy. The Aeotec driver doesn’t send data to SmartThings Energy.

I don’t even know if you read my previous answer. I’ll repeat it in a simplified way: if you want to see data from your Gen5 in SmartThings Energy, you have to use my Z-Wave Electric Meter MC driver. The Aeotec driver or the stock SmartThings driver don’t send valid data to SmartThings Energy.

Thanks @Mariano_Colmenarejo for your persistent help:)!

I did try your driver before and it didn’t show any stats/data in the Energy App, but maybe that was inpatience on my side?

After switching from Aeotec to your driver now again, there is still no data (yet) in the Energy App. Data is coming in via the device (tile).

Would you also please be so kind (and simple) and confirm me, if I /the device has to send negative measurements to ST Energy in order to interpret the data the right way and actually show solar production numbers.

thanks again!

I don’t use the Gen5 to measure solar production. I use it to measure the surplus energy fed into the grid so I can create routines to reduce the surplus and maximize the amount of solar energy consumed in the house.

Therefore, it sends positive values when there’s a surplus and negative values when consumption is from the grid.

I didn’t have it configured for solar production; I had it set as a consumption meter.

Today, in the SmartThings Energy settings, I changed it to solar production, and it forced me to remove the Gen5 as a consumption meter.

Now I can’t go into the settings and change it back to a consumption meter.

My opinion is that the app is rubbish; :poop:only the person who made it understands it.

I get the impression that when you set up the solar production meter, it needs another meter for consumption and calculates the surplus by subtracting consumption from production, but the app doesn’t mention this anywhere. Typical SmartThings; figure it out yourself, smartthings not going to explain anything. :poop:

On the other hand, I have noticed that the months with a change to summer or winter time show huge and erroneous consumption peaks.
