Echo Alarm and GE Zwave Dimming Control

Hi all,

N00b here. I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible; I’m looking to see if it’s easily feasible to have my echo dot alarm slowly brighten the lights in my room, which is currently controlled by a GE zwave dimmable switch. I’ve already setup IFTTT to turn the lights on when the alarm goes off, but it currently just flips them on, which isn’t really the effect I’m looking for. I know it’s possible with the phillips Hues, but is there a simple way for me to get this done with my current hardware?

You can use IFTTT to turn on a virtual switch (or push button), then use the CoRE smartapp and create a rule that says when the virtual switch/button is turned on, dim the bedroom lights from (for example) 10% to 75% over 1 minute.
