I’m trying to set up the Phillips Hue bulb in my bathroom so when I turn it on in the middle of the night it is dimmer than normal, maybe 50%. If turned on during non-sleeping hours I’d want to come on at 100%.
In a nutshell, I want the bulb to come on at 100% from 7AM to 11PM, and 50% from 11PM to 7AM.
I’d appreciate any advice on accomplishing this. I was thinking there’d be something for this on IFTTT, but I haven’t found anything yet.
Take a look at CoRE, a rules engine.
UPDATE DEC 19 2017:
If you are still using CoRE, please update to the latest version as soon as you can. Here’s what changed:
v0.3.16e.20171219 - RC - Replaced recovery safety nets using unschedule() with a much more optimized method that does not affect ST as much as unschedule() does
This is important as CoRE has been identified as a major choke point on a certain method that it uses (ST describes that as expensive in their documentation. As it turns out, it is. With ST’s help, CoRE is now able to recover from timeouts much faster and with a lot less resources than by using its own recovery safety net. You should also consider moving on to webCoRE instead, as CoRE is no longer actively maintained and only gets critical updates.
Thank you
Continuing in the BETA process of CoRE (mil…
It an be a little daunting at first but you can get help from here.
Welcome to the CoRE Logic Thread. Here you will find many community members that are more than willing to help you with the Logic and Programming of your Pistons.
**There will be another thread for “How are you using CoRE?” and “How are you using the CoRE/AskAlexa integration?”.
So, this is the place to ask your questions and the place to get the answers.

Thanks. That was my first try, but I don’t want the lights always on, just
if they do get turned on at night, turn on dimmed.

How are you turning it on now - with the regular wall switch or through the app?

I guess through the app. I tell the echo dot in the bathroom to turn it on.

You can set your good night routine to set dimmers to XX% . If you do that when in night mode the light would only come on at XX%. Otherwise teach the carbonites to say " Alexa turn on bathroom at XX%" instead of just saying turn it on at night LOL

Got the motion sensor today. Works at 100% in the evening. Waiting to see
if it dims tonight.
