[Depricated] Lock Code Manager

Thanks. I assume I have to remove the old app first, but am getting this error message: “The smartapp cant be deleted at this time because it is installed by one or more users”.

i do see all of my devices on the web site and mobile app.

You will need to remove your lock(s) from the SmartApp before it can be deleted. I think you can also force deletion through the ide website by editing the SmartApp parameters and selecting delete.

Got the old one removed, new ones installed. Both show up in my smartapps and I assigned the lock to both, but everything looks same as standard. Does the DTH on github work with schlage connect locks? Or do I need to be near the lock for it to setup (I’m currently not at the house)?

Yes the DTH should work with all Z-Wave locks. Make sure in the ide that the DTH under the properties of your lock in the devices tab is the Gary’s Z-Wave DTH. I do not have a Z-Wave Lock so I am not familiar with what that DTH appears like in SmartThings.

You should not need to join/repair/exclude the lock.

So you may be having a strange issue. My Apps should show up at the bottom of the list after More. Try republishing the SmartApp.

ok so my app has an issue - how do i set my app to use the “shard” NA02? do i need to contact samsung? is there another simple app i can install to just test that apps can be added to the mobile device? i tried re-login and republish of app, please advise whom i should contact for further support? Samsung pointed me to this app for solving this particular issue. thanks!

So your hub either exists in

You do not need to move it, you only need to know which one pertains to your hub. Once you know which shard you are in then that is the one you add your custom code to.

i am NA02 - how do i change the APP to use this hub??

You will need to install the SmartApp and DTH again in this shard. Unfortunately you can’t move it.

ok i chatted with Smartthings and solved my problem. It is indeed a “shard/server name” issue - however the problem is not with the app but with this setup guide!
the links shown are to the old server and any new users should use the new server. if you use the old server your app will not show up on mobile.
so above links shown as:

should be replaced with:
https://graph-na02-useast1.api.smartthings.com/ide/apps
there is another bug as well in the smartthings web page - if you are a new user and have not setup a new app yet, the new app menu will not be shown on the top so you have to use these links. i hope this helps somebody!

ok so i now have learned that you need USERS before you can assign them CODES, i was expecting just a list of codes somewhere. when i assign a new user to a new code i get “unexpected error” - any tips? thanks!

ok you have to start with slot 3 - as someone said above - 1 and 2 seem reserved. thanks!

I would suggest only creating the number of users you plan to create, such as two to start. Make sure to fill out all of the entries created. Increase the user count when you need more. The app does not behave very well when you leave empty user entries.

i created two, assigned them numbers - numbers are not accepted by the lock - no idea what to try next. are you supposed to hear a beep on each button you press? i only hear beep on the lock button and key 7. can you tell me how to enter a lock code? is it (number)(lockkey)? thanks.

If you get a chance look in the live logs when you add a user to make sure they are added correctly. I only have experience with Yale locks that beep on every entry, so I may not be able to help. In any case that sounds odd to work on some numbers and not others. What model lock do you have?

The manual says just enter the code and it should unlock.

Usually you need to program one code manually first.
a. Press the program button on the interior unit once.
b. Enter in 4 to 8 digit code onto the keypad.
c. Press the “LOCK” button to save code.
d. Extend the bolt by pressing the “LOCK” button and re-enter the code to
test. The bolt should retract to the unlocked position. If it does not unlock,
repeat steps (a) through ©.

thanks for the help - seems there is a hardware problem, only 2 buttons work. i’ll take it up with the manufacturer.

I reinstalled gary’s DTH that I had for the old app. Now I have the extra buttons on my mobile app (alarm on/off and volume, auto lock, lock and leave) but that’s all. If I go to my home–>front door lock–>smartapps I see both lock manager smart apps. opening either one I selected the front door lock in the “which locks”, the only other option is “create” new user but when I try to select that nothing happens.

You may need to delete what you’ve done in the phone app. To configure the phone app go to ‘marketplace’, click on ‘SmartApps’, then scroll down to ‘My Apps’. Next click on ‘Lock Manager’. In that SmartApp select your lock(s).

Afterwards go to ‘Automations’, ‘SmartApps’, then click on the ‘Lock Manager’ app there. In that instance of the app you can add users.
