[DEPRECATED] Blink Camera Device Handler with Motion Sensor, Live Video Streaming, Integration with SmartThings/SHM, Temperature, Signals and Push Notifications

So what exactly is the best way to turn on and off the cameras after mode change? I had it setup with routines and now I have it change with SHM and both of them results in a few cameras not turning off and triggering alerts . Any other ideas?

Platform issues. Try this:

There are many way to turn the Blink cameras on/off. I prefer to use the CoRe community rule engine. I can have it control the Routine execution/SHM Arming&Disarming/Turn my Blink cameras ON&Off/Control my thermostat while checking if the presence sensors are home and if there is motion at the same time.

That is a mouth full.

The Blink Alexa skill does not show for me when I search for it. I didn’t get the email above either. Anyone else?

Go to the Skills section in the Alexa app and do a search for Blink. I just checked and it is there.

Got it now. I was making the mistake of searching in the Smart Home Skills section and it doesn’t show up there. They need to organize this better in the app. Rachio, Blink, etc. should all be in the Smart Home section.

@rboy I need som advice here. I just got a Fibaro button I want to use as a arm/disarm trigger.
I enable/disable two blink cameras with enableCamera/disableCamera in core.
Tried enabling one and one in the same rule aslo.
But in about 4 out of 10 times(ish) one of the cameras does not enable, or it enables and disables in a short timeframe. Not always the same camera that is not enabling. Disable works lik a charm.
I paste in the log from a situation when its not entering status enabled.
Is there a timing issue when I enable both in same piston?
PS double checked in blink app to see if it was a gui error in the ST app.

Regards

Your app/rule is sending the camera an enable and disable command. (i.e. on and off both)

Might be settings for SHM I made in the Blink Smart app that is triggering in a parallell, will have a look at tonight. Thank you for your investigation @RBoy

Edit, You where right, on/off due to me having a setting in Blink Smart app, conflicting whit a core piston.
Thank you for taking a look at the log.

A question for both @RBoy and @beckwith:

I’m approaching the need for a second sync module. Does the manager smartapp pick that up if I register another sync module to the same account? I don’t know enough yet about the sync module to know if I can use the same account or if I need a new one.

It has been a while since I set it up. If you want multiple sync modules visible in the Blink app, add them to the existing account. However, if they are at different locations (i.e. more than one SmartThings hub), then use a different account so you can use @RBoy’s app properly. The last I checked Blink makes you identify every camera ID before you can move one or more from one account to another. So make sure you get it right the first time or it can be difficult moving later.

I don’t recall how or when it discovers a new sync module under the same account.

Have you played with the NiMH discharge curve? @lmosenko, how are your NiMH batteries holding up?

Correct, after adding the sync module and registering the cameras using the blink app, just open the Blink Camera Manager and the new cameras will show up, just hit done to add them to your ST account.

Sorry @beckwith, @RBoy. needs of the family come first.

How do I turn on notifications from ST? Thought I had them before and now they don’t happen.

Do you get any notifications from ST app? If not, please enter a ticket with ST support.

I do. I just remember get double from blink app and st about blink. Now I get nothing from blink in ST. or maybe I’m only getting alerts that go to all users.
