[DEPRECATED] Blink Camera Device Handler with Motion Sensor, Live Video Streaming, Integration with SmartThings/SHM, Temperature, Signals and Push Notifications

Hey everyone, I’m new to the whole smart home stuff (in the process of building a new home) and have been looking into some smart home hardware to integrate. I planned on getting blink cameras for the following reasons:

  • Get a notification and check live feed when someone enters the driveway (The design of the house doesn’t allow seeing out front very well).

  • Track packages being delivered via text message for motion

  • small amounts of security (know if someone has been on my property)

Is the current blink integration (through IFTTT) capable of these abilities ?

It took 35 emails back and forth with customer service but I finally got a full refund on my blink cameras. I was outside of the 12 month return but kept pushing and finally got the refund. @RBoy makes solid apps and I was very happy with them and still use a lot of his other ones. Blink pulled a bait and switch I was not going to let them keep a dime of my money.

I dont feel blink pulled a bait and switch in regards to rboys app. As with anything they have the right to implement whatever they feel is beneficial to thier compnay.
They may very well have kept the rboy App, but due to selling the company to amazon i feel they needed to cut ties with it and sell the company as a whole with no “aftermarket” external apps.
Amazon may bring it back time will tell.

No…do yourself a favor and wire your house for a camera system. Although i love the blink system i dont think it compares to a CCTV system.

I’m with @1nicemustang, if your home isn’t finished yet, run Ethernet cable to wherever you want to install IP cameras.

Blink’s best feature, IMO, is the ability to place cameras where there’s no Ethernet and/or power. But most of us can’t add Ethernet wherever we want!

Hey @Gutheinz thanks for writing this code. Im no coder and this works great. my system is armed all the time. I like the additional ability when motion is detected to now make something else occur. Thanks again for putting this together.

This app has been disabled since around december what code do you speak of (in yoda voice)

@1nicemustang if you look further up int he comments note 2879 Gutheinz created 2 device handlers. im using is the motion sensor one he created and it works great. even though Rboys application is disco its good to know the community is still somewhat alive and helpful.

This thread was suspended. Maybe you need to start another thread for the DTH you are referring to.

Who is so smart as to Flag my product review for the community? ST staff jump to pull it. Your Loss!

This product is sold on Amazon. It comes in option of 1 or 3 pack; Black color only at this point as this is their first run. You can find my review there too as I love this product in place of the normally provided Blink mount.

@Imosenko Just order the three mount version. Thanks for the info and I still not sure why you review was remove as sometimes I and others learn of new product from others on the forum. Thanks for the info.

Once Wyzecam releases an outdoor version, RIP Blink. Amazon are going to regret their purchase

I have both systems. I have a few spots that I need the battery functionality of Blink… don’t think Wyzecam is ever going to match that.

Wow! Another item i didnt know exsisted. That camera and the features look to me to be a “blink killer” definitely! Outdoor version would be great and if it sucked im out 19 bucks not 119. Its worth checking out!! Maybe just maybe they would be able to play nice with smartthings and rboy apps!

I don’t think it a Blink killer but 19.00 Dollars is a good price. I have had Blink since the Kick starter and really like it a lot and it been a solid performer over the years and has one of the best battery usage in the business.
