Carrier mini split made smart?

Hi, I found this group researching my issue but the thread is a couple years old now.

I am having a couple 40MAHBQ12XA3 Carrier ductless mini splits installed and am trying to figure out the best way to make them smart or at least programmable. I’m actually shocked they aren’t smart.

I know you can get the Carrier wifi interface KSAIF0301AAA but it is expensive and from what I can see the app has poor reviews and hasn’t been updated in 2 years. If feels abandoned by Carrier.

What are people doing to free themselves from a remote control?

Thanks

I put a Cielo Breez unit in each room. It emulates the remote control and can be controlled through the Cielo app, and the Cielo app integrates cloud to cloud with SmartThings.
