I think this is the proverbial straw that is breaking the camel’s back. I get that smart things needs to evolve as a platform. In order to keep up with the rest of the market it is a necessity. However the way this has been handled, just blanketly removing support for devices I rely on, and changing the core functionality of their own devices and products is not acceptable. Since the original announcement that some of my devices will no longer be supported, plus the fact that they don’t tell you which and make you go find out on your own, instead of going through the painful migration process. I’m moving to something else. Is this a knee jerk reaction? Probably. Did it take years to get everything set up the way I wanted. Yes. Am I going to have an elaborate set up like I used to moving platforms? No. I’m just done with the way we have been supported as customers. I’m leaving, and honestly, I think smart things is just ok with that.
Getting to that point as well …
I think a good amount of people are feeling the same way. When i first came to smartthings in 2016, this was a vibrant place but as samsung had begun to make changes & hubitat came to town, this place became a ghost town slowly. Im thinking there is gonna be another exodus coming with all these changes.
Yep, same issues here. All routines have stopped working and can no longer see them on the automations tab in the app but can see them still on when looking at the routine of the individual switch. Also, on the Automations tab, I can see Smart Apps and all but one are off and no longer function. I sure hope this resolves soon! I’m on a Samsung phone/ Android.
FW Ver 000.045.00011
Still missing this morning. Forgot to mention, seeing this on Samsung s22, s21 ultra, and Tab s8 ultra. One would think that Samsung would prioritize QA on their own devices before pushing an update to prod. Don’t know what team does the QA testing for SmartThings but may be time to look into some different options. Hubitat is looking better every day. I’ve held off because of the number of SH devices and automations I have running but you can only squeeze so much blood from a stone.
Clearly they don’t bother with testing …
Looks like FW isn’t the problem since I got older FW on one and latest on another and both behave the same …screwed up
It’s not just android, but whatever it is is weird.
I am in the US.
I can see all my routines in the iOS version of the app.
But they are missing from the new web interface:
And I don’t have a smartthings hub, so it didn’t have anything to do with the firmware update. But it did happen on the same day.
Also, some developers are reporting that they can no longer get a list of their rules through the CLI.
Just got reply from support …why did I even bother …
Clearly they think I’m not busy enough so they like to keep me occupied.
For now, I would recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the app and see if this helps.
If the above troubleshooting does not resolve the problem, please get back to us with the below required details:
- Screenshot of the error from the SmartThings App
- Timestamp of error as occurred
- Model and a Serial number of the device.
- SmartThings App version
Part of this reply was also about my CT101 thermostat that doesn’t work since the EDGE migration (I’m not the only one unable to set manually temperature) We are waiting for fix since November …nothing
Everyone who has not already opened a ticket should do so : support@smarthings.com.
Perhaps volume of open tickets regarding the same issue will trigger a response?
I’ve been pretty forgiving during this transition, but this is something else altogether.
All I have to say is, “Ugh.”
Group buy time for home assistant?
My challenge is I feel Hubutat is not quite polished enough (and Tuya integration is fairly non existent). Home assistant seems great but a little too much fiddling required to maintain it and steep learning curve I think.
Oh and I think you can’t actually buy home assistant hardware right now unless you want to build it yourself.
You don’t see automations on my.smartthings.com? I thought I’d check mine, and I can see my automations, but still can’t see them in my Android app… I’ve logged on and back in. I’ve rebooted the Hub. Nothing works yet.
I don’t see Smart Lighting there. Or routines, but now I’m being told that my.smartthings.com never showed routines? It’s very confusing…
Potential discovery!!! There is a workaround I stumbled upon, I think.
Go to any device that has a routine. Click on routines, you will see related routine but cannot edit.
Turn the routine off using the slider. You can now edit the routine and save. Turn the routine back on.
Seems to be working… Can anyone else confirm?
LOL, same with the reply I got…

I was able to duplicate this! Not convenient, but at least it works!
Thanks!
OK, let me be more clear. On the Automations “tab”, I can see Scenes. I do not see my routines. Scenes are displayed under Favorites. Under Automations, I can see apps like SLGA. I can’t see Scenes in the App (but I do have an Android widget that displays them and they still work from there). I thought Smart lighting was still working, but it didn’t cut off lights this morning (although it did turn them on, I think, unless they were on all night long). It’s still a mess…
Actually just toggle the routine off and then back on, change not necessary - I can now edit the routine.
By turning off and turning back on in device routine tab, routine appears in Automations page BUT fades away in abyss as soon as page is refreshed!
