What’s the recommend cameras to use with ST?
I’m looking at Netgear Arlo and they seem good and should work with ST, but do I need to buy the Arlo hub to or do I need just the cameras to make it work?
Thanks for reading!

Probably close to 20+ topics on camera recommendations, pros/cons etc. Here are just a few I searched
I am currently testing out a 5 camera Blink setup. It’s ok. I increased the clip duration to 15 seconds but the clips end too early (< 15 seconds) often and the clips always start to late. Live view is underwhelming at best. The android app is very meh and there is no web interface. I’m not too bothered by no IR for night time, but I wouldn’t mind having it.
The other options I see for me would be 5 Arlo Q cameras or 4-5 Foscam cameras (FI9821P or R2?). Obviously both would be wired. What are peoples opinions on them? Live streaming, image quality, web interface, notifications, other uses as motion sensors, etc. I don’t particularly plan to use them as recording devices really. Mostly pet watching, smoke alarm notification (a Nest Protect false alarmed me a few weeks back and I…
So, I’m starting this thread because in the past week or so I’ve received about 10 eMails and messages from folks asking my views of the “best” camera for integration with SmartThings. The most common question being would I Blink or Foscam if I were to start over again (given that we’ve written Device Handlers and SmartApps to integrate Blink , Foscam and others and Blink and Foscam being the popular ones).
Here’s my response to @johnconstantelo , just to kick start the discussion:
Oh absolutely, there’s no way I can do what I’ve done around my house/labs without Blink. The BIGGEST plus is that it’s wireless and at my consumption rate the battery will last years. I use it primarily as a motion sensor when away from the house and camera (obvious) but also to peek in from time to time to se…
Besides the only 3 Samsung and overpriced Arlo suppprted cameras? Something that seems very popular here and works the best compared to others?
I have 4 of the older Costco Samsung cams, but disappointed they will not work with the “Samsung” SmartThings. So looking at other cam brands other than Samsung just for spite.
I see DH’s for D-links?
Prefer cams that can adjust in all directions and for security and can at leaSt take photo or video upon triggering.
Thanks!
