BS-101 SMART SWITCH Connection Problem

Hi,
No matter what l do l’m unable to get this switch to connect.
I thought even if l was connected it would still work manually but it doesn’t.
I just go around in cycles.
When l do get it blinking slowly and then try to connect the hotspot fails to turn up on my WiFi so l can connect.
The blue WiFi light is on.
If the app does finally see the switch l get the message you can see on the attached photo.
Also the wiring diagram shows three wires connected. I only have two, live and neutral. The earth isn’t used. Why is this it’s only a single gang switch.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
I’m not a newbie to this, l’ve successfully connected dozens of other products.
Thank you
Mike

Who is the manufacturer of this device? Is it a Wi-Fi only device? If it is Wi-Fi, you would need to connect the device using the manufacturer’s app and then link ST to their cloud using that device’s login credentials.

I may be wrong but that does not look like an image of the SmartThings app.

Hi,
It’s a Chinese one that is repackaged under a dozen brands.
I’m using the correct apps but without success.

Yes, it is.

This forum was set up a number of years ago so that people who were using the Samsung SmartThings ™ home automation platform could help each other with ideas and advice. It’s not a general home automation discussion group, so I’m afraid if you’re not using the Samsung SmartThings platform, we can’t really help you here.

There’s a good home automation discussion group on Reddit which covers all brands, so you’ll probably get a better answer there if you can’t find a group specific to the brand that you have.

Good luck!

I think you are confusing Smart Life and SmartThings, they are two different apps/ecosystems.
The screenshot you posted looks like it’s from Smart Life, this forum is Devoted to SmartThings.
