Audio announcement repeated multiple times, not sure why?

I have a Samsung washer/dryer and setup an automation to announce on my Sonos speakers in the Smartthings app to announce on selected speakers that the washer is done.

It works every-time, but what happens is that it will repeat “The washer/dryer is done, please pick up your clothes” like 4 or 5 times and is rather annoying. The number of speakers I select for it to play on seems to have no effect on how many times it repeats itself.

IF:
Washer (laundry room)
Washer progress: Finishing
THEN:
Read message aloud
The washer is done
Living room and 2 others

How long does the washer stay in Finishing? Maybe add that amount of time to delay the action of speaking on the sonos.

How can I do that? I don’t see any “delay” option either in either the IF or That?

my guess would be
Then
Read Message --> open that and look at the bottom for delay action

I have the same issue with all announcements whether it is mode change or a sensor trigger (garage door status).

Sometimes the announcement is singular but most of the time it is repeated between 4 and 7 times.

I have tried everything but cannot figure it out. My next stop was going to be support.

Same thing happened to me with contact sensors. It stopped for me now. Has it stopped for you?

There is no delay action option for announcement automation.

Did anybody figure this out? I’m having the same issue since upgrading to the new sonos connector

@Bryan_Mack @neocody probably because of the new api. It happened because of the new alexa skill, and now it is happening with the new Sonos connector. See this thead:

Now using hubitat so no more problems now!
