Have you tried going into the device in the graphapi interface and editing the preferences section to set the audiosensitivity?

Just a note, this doesnā€™t ā€œstickā€ either. Works for 1 iteration and then reverts back to level 3ā€¦

Can you explain what you are trying to do? Is it that youā€™re trying to stop sound notifications, or is there something else?

@twack: Getting tons of notifications for audio detection on Apple Watch and iPhone is annoying. In my case, we have a dog that barks at every sound, so I donā€™t care about audio detection at all.

Arlo provides independent settings for motion and audio. These are not available in ST (either by ST choice or not exposed by Arlo). Would be great if this was supportedā€¦separate issue.

For now, the only way to control the audio notifications is to adjust the sensitivity setting (I set mine to ā€˜1ā€™ - least sensitive). This works only for a short while.

As others point out here, the setting changes back (for me to ā€˜3ā€™) at some point. I also have automations to disable the camera when we are home and enable when we are home. Not sure if this is when it happens, but @johngidd has observed no and provided some log for analysis.

A couple of workarounds are mentioned here, but not a real solution. Can someone from ST confirm this is a known issue and ask what is needed to address it, @twack?

I received another email direct from support about two weeks ago. Confirming the issue had still not been fixed. Oddly I have yet to see a smartthings representative respond to this thread on the same subject. Not sure if the support ticket I have open is really a known issue as previous exchanges have suggested or if they are just hoping that something will change in a future release. It would be ideal for development to post some sort of acknowledged problem list with these types of issues especially considering the prime time nature of the products involved. At least to help eliminate needless speculation on such issues. The last correspondence I have on the subject acknowledges the issue and only indicates future work on the problem. Nothing definitive.

I donā€™t know if this has been addressed yet but as many have mentioned, it is a known bug. Arlo independently sends annoying notifications on Audio sensitivity when using the ST mode. The only simple workaround that has worked for me is to disable Push notifications from Arlo app on your Smartphone i.e. update Arlo App settings in App manager. This works best. But, be aware that it turns off all notifications from the Arlo app only. In my case, since I rely on ST notifications, Arlo notifications do not matter to me. Hopefully, this temporary workaround will help until Arlo/ST figure out and start listing Audio sensitivity separately from motion, so they can be independently controlled!

Mentioned in another post, Iā€™ve changed the Arlo Pro to an Arlo device type on the web IDE in SmartThings. This seems to be the trick for avoiding the Arlo app from sending/ changing to audio alerts. I keep Arlo app in Armed mode always (not the SmartThings mode in Arlo) set to record for motion. Using presence and other rules based on doors, etcā€¦ within SmartThings app turn cameras on / off as they are viewed as a switch. This has worked very well for a few months now. Sorry for not referencing the other post but others have done similar successfully too.

Bringing this back to the top. @twack is there any update on this?

I have been successfully using 5 Arlo Pro cameras with the ā€œArlo Cameraā€ DTH with no issues. I recently added an Arlo Pro 2, which installed using the ā€œArlo Proā€ DTH. Multiple times per day the settings revert. Audio detection turns on, push notifications turn on, sensitivity changes, and recording to the Arlo cloud is disabled.

In the past week I added an Arlo-Q, it doesnā€™t suffer from this problem. It appears that only cameras with the"Arlo Pro" DTH are affected. The workaround is to use the Arlo Camera DTH but then I lose the ability to have audio detection rules in ST.

Is there a plan to ever fix this? Why has it sat unresolved for months?

Same problem. Sound detection keeps turning itself back on, and I get alert, after alert. Guess Iā€™ll try turning the Mic ā€œoffā€ and see if that works?? If that doesnā€™t work I guess Iā€™ll turn off notifications in the Arlo app, as suggested above. I tried it once, but it said I had to turn the camera off firstā€¦
UPDATE: Turning off Mic fix didā€™t workā€¦after I read the entire thread I see that now.
Supposed to be a software update on Dec 4th:
"Fix disconnect issues for some users with video cameras"
Since I read that the disconnect is the problem, Iā€™ll wait till then to see if that fixes it!

I am trying to help someone over in the Arlo Community forum with this problem. What I donā€™t understand is that I have 3 Arlo Pros and none of them are doing this.

I ended up abandoning the custom Arlo SA created by @SteveWhite white due to it constantly triggering the SmartThings mode and that mode doesnā€™t save my settings. Additionally, I canā€™t figure out how to activate the camera prior to changing modes as the SA assume the camera is always active.

Lastly - I have tagged Steve a number of times in his thread asking questions and they have not been answered (even though others have been answered that were asked after mine). I know he created it and it is mostly SUPER AWESOME - I just have others in my house that wonā€™t allow the cameras to stay active when we are home so it renders his SA unusable unless I am missing something.
