There are now three different wake words: Alexa, Amazon, and Echo. So you can have a Dot and an Echo in the same room, but only wake up one at a time if that’s what you want.

I don’t have an echo and none of the links above seem to work for me.
Found on CNET and it worked for me to order with an iPad mini
Loaded Amazon app, found the Echo Dot but swipe didn’t work.
Clicked on the microphone and said "Add Echo Dot to Cart"
It did and I was able to purchase.
It said it’s shipping May 5th.

Amazon picked up on the swipe trick. They have disabled it. Now if you do it only says details.

I was gonna get two… But the wife putout the kaibosh on it… Apparently three echoes is enough and two more is just well… No…

Well now it’s a later date, I think sometime in May. So it would spread it out a little. Less chance of her noticing. Haha

I wish the Tap would be voice activated when connected to a power source and only require a tap when on battery mode. It would be the ultimate echo!

Dot + Tap = Ultimate Echo?
Plug the line-out on the Dot into the line-in on the Tap. Now you have a voice activated Echo. When you are on the go, just disconnect your Tap… and go!

Absolutely ridiculous that you can only order it from the echo through voice. I am away from my house from work. Trying to get my Sonos to order it but Alexa isn’t understanding her

But i’m going to replace it with a tap, because I could press the button right next to me if i wanted the voice control…
