Alexa and Samsung series 6 smart tv

I just got a smamsung series 6 smart tv and I hooked it up to my Alexa. I can get alexa to turn the tv on and off but it won’t do other things like change channels or volume. I Can’t find an Alexa activity to do those things using iOS. Evidently there is an Android activity that can do this

Does anyone know how to get alexa to control an Samsung series 6 Smart tv under ios

There is an official Samsung forum, including employee participation, specifically for televisions. You might try asking there as well, as there are only a few community members here who have the televisions, and this is just a peer to peer forum.

https://us.community.samsung.com

Hopefully someone here will have information as well.

Thanks

If you have enabled the SmartThings skill in Alexa, you should be able to control volume and change the channel. If you say something such as “Alexa, change channel to 3 on TV”, “…Next channel on TV”, or “…mute TV”, does Alexa respond?

Is that new? This is still in the SmartThings skill description

It replies

TV doesn’t support that

In response to request to change channel

I think I’m missing some Alex skill

I’m using an iPhone

I have the same issues about this, I think basic thinks like mute tv, play youtube video, turn up/down volume should be supportted by alexa
