Aeotec Z-Stick Gen 5 to update firmware of devices on SmartThings

I want to add a Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5 to the SmartThings so I can use the stick to do OTA firmware updates to the switches. I’ve put both of the devices into their respective inclusion modes but I can’t seem to get the stick to the add to the hub. Is there something I’m missing or is this just something that’s not going to work?

It works. I used my z stick to update my roller blinds firmware recently. Follow the instructions to include your zstick as a ‘secondary controller.’. How far is your pc with the stick from your hub?

I strongly suggest running the software as an administrator on your machine. It is flaky for me but I have better luck with that than I do not running the software as an administrator.

Do you mind explaining the process of adding the Aeotec as a secondary controller to ST? I’m actually looking at this to update the firmware on my blinds as well.

Its quite simple, you just put SmartThings into join mode (generic ZWave device if youre using newapp) and use the software for your zstick to tell the zstick to join ZWave network. It joins as a secondary controller.
