Aeotec Smart Switch 6 and 7 unresponsive last 2 days? (12 April 2023)

And as of now, the drivers on my channel are updated for the Smart Switch 6 & 7 and working again, thanks to Chris Cheng over at Aeotec for the guidance.

@CommanderQ, it looks like 47.11 hotfix was released to address the issue somewhat. I received it yesterday and the 7’s seem to be ok on your driver, but whatever Samsung did in the hotfix has made the Switch 6 revert to the bad power on/off behavior. The generic driver still works with the 6 after the hotfix.

Any chance (as if you hadn’t spent enough time on it this week!) you could take a look at what they changed? I noticed the release notes for 47.11 are missing here in the forums… They released firmware with no change notes.

They are in the first post of the 47.3 Beta thread.

47.11

  • Fix rare issue causing a small number of hubs to disconnect at an elevated rate
  • Fix issue causing Matter OTA to be unavailable

A PR is in to fix up the stock driver’s handling of the Smart Switch 7 in the same way as had been done for the Smart Switch 6.

Oh, yes, @TracySmith - I’m definitely keeping an eye on the Smart Switch 6 driver and this issue and happy to make any changes needed. I’ve been away for a week or so and am taking a look at my hub to see whether I have the latest firmware now to try to reproduce any problems. Are you still seeing the problematic behavior with my Smart Switch 6 driver?

@CommanderQ, Sorry I have been traveling for work so not online here much. Yes, I just checked again to make sure. Since ST made their second change, I had to move all those switches over to the generic ST Z-Wave Switch driver to get them to work. I’m not sure what they did, but the Switch 7 works fine on both ST Generic and on yours, but the second change they made allows their driver to work, but yours will not turn on or off the device. It looks like it is communicating fine - ie: when manually turned on, the power meter and energy consumption appear to be updated, but just the on-off action is not working.

I’ve got at least a few dozen of those switches between here and another location (mom’s house) and am happy to test or provide logs if that would be helpful. No one seems dead in the water because ST fixed their own driver, but it will be nice to have the advanced options back that you worked on (and thank you very very much for that!)
