I have a dual nano zwave switch. One switch turns on my main kitchen light, the other turns on my under cabinet lighting strips. I have a motion sensor that when it sees motion and it’s night time. It was turning the counter lights for 45 mins and had done so for several years. The battery in the motion sensor died and when I put a new one in both lights starting coming on for a few mins then turning both off. I deleted the smart lighting action in the app and re-did it. Now both lights come on for 45mins when there is motion. The nano switch has a dual momentary switch in front of it and I can turn 1 on or the other on but if I use the ST app/ hub it turns both on.
I couldn’t find the live logging for the hub other than I click on something that said I request to dump the hub’s logs. It didn’t download anything, didn’t get an email. I deleted the main light out of the hub and disabled all rules but triggering the counter lights using ST still turns both lights on/off
The driver is listed as “Z-wave Switch”, I haven’t made any changes to my hub in several years. The version for that driver is 2024-10-14T21:55
I also tried rebooting the hub and Z-wave repair. How do I get the logs? And how can I fix this and also add my other light back?
You can get driver logging using the ST CLI on your Linux/Windows/macOS computer. Download the binary and use the command “smartthings edge:drivers:logcat”. You will be prompted for which driver to do logging. If you enter the command with “-a” on the command line, it will log all drivers.
Dump hub logs is for support and sends the logs to ST. It’s doesn’t help with troubleshooting.
You should also be able to look in the ST app history to see if any Routines are triggering the light to come on. Menu Tab->History.
