ActionTiles 7 or 10 day forecast

Go back to the beginning of your history in your browser when you started this adventure.

I bet we got Terry laughing :joy:

History is gone. But I have had this view since the start of Action Tiles.

So here is what I played with and I don’t think you are going to be able to expand on it:

&daysonly=2&maxdays=4

Days Only = 0, 1, or 2 (If you Change to 0, you will get current day and night)
Max Days = 1, 2, 3 or 4 (If you leave Days Only at 2, and walk thru Max Days 1, 2, 3, 4). It will populate 1 day in the whole box, 2 days in the whole box, 3 days in the whole box, etc…

If you do Days Only 0 and Max Days 4 - you will get Today, Tonight, Tomorrow Day and Tomorrow Night.

Think that’s the max for wherever that came from. It’s not even a 4 day total, it’s just a 4 icon total depending on how you configure the two parameters.

That’s as far as I can go. I’m betting they changed their website since this original url you got. Because you can no longer access the .net without being directed unless you have this fully formatted url.

Don’t pull your hair out. Use the 4 days or New York

FYI: Just received the email notification for the 19.19 Firmware Update for tomorrow.

Got it yesterday, are you also on the Beta team?

You can also play with the colors if you want:

&hwvbg=black&hwvtc=white&hwvdisplay=&daysonly=2&maxdays=4

No, I didn’t join the 19.17 Beta because I had already participated in the Account Migration Beta and that had a few issues, so I didn’t want to compound problems by trying to be involved in more things where there was a potential to go even more haywire

AT beta team.

Yes I know that is how I made mine gray.

So I shortened the url even further to this:

https://www.weatherforyou.net/fcgi-bin/hw3/hw3.cgi?config=png

And got this to pop up:

From looking at Hamweather it’s now part of Aeris. Think the 7 day is SOL.

Alright beer time. Let me see the finished product when your done.

Yes it is no longer available in that format. I will stop searching. And thanks for trying.

Does it need to be a pretty image?

You could go with the feed style if that will work.

The JGGDEV (http://jggdev.com) scripts which generate Media Tiles for weather, news, calendar have been licensed by Thingterfaces LP for ActionTiles and moved to our cloud.

Anyone know how to use weatherforyou to get just a daily forecast for an ActionTiles tile like this :

I’ve tried several URL’s without success.

What’s the URLs you tried, please?

Here are just a few (zip and city removed)…
https://www.weatherforyou.net/fcgi-bin/hw3/hw3.cgi?config=png&forecast=zone&alt=hwizone&place=xxxxxxxxx&state=tn&country=us

https://www.weatherforyou.com/reports/index.php?config=&forecast=zone&pands=00000&zipcode=00000&place=xxxxxxxxx&country=us&icao=KTYS

https://www.weatherforyou.com/reports/index.php?config=&forecast=zone&pands=00000&zipcode=00000&icao=KTYS

https://www.weatherforyou.com/reports/index.php?config=&forecast=zone&pands=00000&zipcode=00000&place=xxxxxxxxx&country=us&icao=KTYS

https://www.weatherforyou.com/reports/index.php?forecast=zandh&pands=00000&zipcode=00000&country=us&icao=KTYS

Only this source might be compatible with Media Tile because it returns a simple image (PNG format).

I notice that this one above is “weatherforyou dot net” not “weatherforyou dot com”.

The others direct to full web pages with lots of elements, blocks of text, etc., etc…

We are working on “iframe tiles” as a feature, but even those will not handle any arbitrarily complex web page. (Keep in mind that scraping a forecast from a regular web page is “stealing / copyright violation”, unless the terms of the web page permit it.)
