3A NUE ZigBee RGBW Controller - which protocol?

I recently purchased a 3A NUE controller on Amazon that is advertised as " ZigBee 3.0 RGB Strip Light Controller". Reference to Zigbee 3.0 is also displayed on the product label:

Upon installation the device is shown in the IDE as

  • manufacturer: FeeBit RGBW
  • model: FB56-ZCW20FB1.2

According to the available spec sheets that I was able to unearth online, this module supports
Zigbee HA1.2, ZigBee Light Link, Zigbee 2007 and Zigbee Pro protocols rather than Zigbee 3.0.

Could anyone please correct or confirm this ambiguity?

Zigbee 3.0 is in most cases backwards compatible with all of the other profiles that you listed, so it can work with coordinators of any of those types. That’s why you’re seeing multiple references. But it is indeed a zigbee 3.0 profile device unless it’s a counterfeit. :sunglasses:

Zigbee 3 devices can join legacy Zigbee profile networks.

zigbee 3.0 has been designed to allow for interoperability between zigbee 3.0 devices and legacy HA and ZLL devices. With proper configuration, ZLL and HA devices can join zigbee 3.0 networks and similarly zigbee 3.0 devices have the functionality to join legacy legacy networks operating with either ZLL or HA networking. This KBA will help you understand the configurations necessary for allowing this.
