Different use for smart sense multi

Hi, I’m interested. In using a multi to sense a spinning object and notify me if that is the case. I’ll mount a magnet on the spool and would like to have a notification if the open/closed state changes.

As close to realtime as possible is important.

If I can get that to work, I’d like to modify to get it to work locally, without a cloud connection. The notification could be on an iOS or android device.

What say you? Can this be done?..

Yes you could do this with some special code, but you’ll need the cloud for the notifications and such.

You could pair the device with a zigbee usb stick running some piece of software on a computer and do it that way, but even those notifications would require the cloud, not ST though.
