Zigbee Irrigation Controller and Moisture Sensors - Eve is now Spruce

Grass starting to look rough, any help would be great before I remove this thing.

System will just not run…keep getting “no watering scheduled today”.

I have removed the moisture sensors, turned off learning, turned off seasonal adjust, put moisture level to 30%

I have also set the manual turn off time to 20 minutes so I can manually run the zones, they turn off in 5 minutes even though it is set to 20.

HELP!!!

Do you have it set to water every day and enable watering on? Mine has been working fine. It’s scheduled for every other day and turns on fine as long as the weather is clear. It picks up rain in the forecast and delays accordingly.

This is my settings

Weird. Mine fired just fine today. Moisture sensors were at 19 yesterday. I think it’s time to chat with Spruce support. They have been great to deal with whenever I had any issue.

Already emailed them…lets see if they can figure it out

Got it working, under my zone setup there is watering time per week. It said default 0 = auto adjust.

I left it alone (no entry). Once I went in and put a 0 in the entry it worked.

Now the fun begins about setting up sensors and other settings.

What moisture setting is everyone else using, are you letting sensors go down to 20%??

Mine have never dropped that low even with 2 weeks of not watering.

Glad it was something simple. It was really wet here last month so my levels didn’t drop low enough until the heat hit. I have my sensors set at 25. One is at 22 the other 36 today As long as your grass/plants don’t look stressed your OK.

I have my target moisture values between 25 and 35%. The sensor seem to be very dependent on the type of soil… I would recommend turning off the sensors for your first week or two and monitor the high and low moisture values for each sensor. Then pick a target value someplace in the middle of the high and low.

it would be helpful in a thread called “Eve is now Spruce” that the link to product in the first post actually went to the correct site.

If you click the link to http://www.spruceirrigation.com, it still takes you to the old URL.

that spruce link took me to the correct website.

The one here:

takes me to eveirrigation.com

I stand corrected. I only clicked your link. The original is broken.

I also noticed that manually run stops in 5 minutes no matter the value in the app. Any ideas or should I just contact support?

@sjones0812 @ilroby

After changing the manual run time, press the configure button down near the zone 16. This will commit the setting to the controller. Working on an update to this as we understand it is not obvious.

Please do get in touch with our support page, we can help! http://support.spruceirrigation.com/
Thanks

Yeah I may not have been doing it. I’ll give it a try.
Thank!

Seasonal adjust is only adjusting the zones I entered a watering time for. I don’t really want those zones to change. Its not changing the ones I didn’t input a number for. These are the zones I want to change seasonally.

Also, my moisture sensors read around 3% but my lawn is green. I have lots of clay but that still seems very low. It’s not a desert.

Is there a setup wiki everyone is using? I installed my system last week and so far it has not turned on to water my lawn. My scheduled time is 4am… when i wake up i see notifications on my phone showing the weather in my area (0in of rain, we’re under a heat wave in toronto) but watering skipped for today.

I never set any specific watering days as the app said its was optional… no moisture sensors but i do have a rain sensor.

Not sure what to do.

When i manually press start program, i get a message saying no watertering for today.

Thanks

There is this one that lists lots of things to try under 'Schedule Not Starting’
http://support.spruceirrigation.com/article-categories/smartapp/
You can also post a picture of your schedule setup page as others above have done and/or the output from the schedule… found at: https://graph.api.smartthings.com/ Then log in and select “My Devices” then select “Spruce Controller” then scroll down and select “List Events”, Copy and past all the Events from around 4am. That hopefully would give us some info to point out the setting(s) to change.

Thank you that’s perfect… i failed to setup my zones… just completed and hopefully should trigger tonight

Hi

I have a spruce sensor that is reporting battery and temperature consistently, but moisture inconsistently. I have it set to report moisture every 10 minutes but that isn’t happening - see screenshot. I thought this might be a network issue, but can that actually be the case given that battery and temp are consistently being updated? If it is due to network issues, what can I do to improve that?

Thanks
