When are "Hard Wired" Smoke detectors going to be supported by Smart Things

However, if those were just connected to a dry contact or switch zwave module it would get the main functionality I personally would like to see. After that it’s just a matter of getting SmartThings to recognize those devices as a smoke/CO signal.

Yup - there’s a whole thread about that: Connected Smoke Alarms. I used the Kidde relay and a custom device type to do exactly that. It integrates nicely into the Smart Home Monitor.
