Using physical switch on a table lamp with a smart bulb?

An alternative would be to have a smart “inline” switch, but I have not seen any of those, plus I suspect they would end up being quite bulky.

Swiidter makes a nice one of these for Europe, but so far it has not been made on the US frequency.

There are community members who are using the $5 sonoff switch and wiring it themselves into a cord. I’m hesitant to recommend that because there is some technical set up required and because you can end up with a cord which looks like it’s grounded but actually isn’t, so I have some concerns about fire safety.
