Turn on switch when connected to wifi - possible?

Hi,
I’m trying setting up a location based trigger to turn on a switch.

Initially I wanted to use the mobile phone presence sensor, but for some reason the location is always off by a lot (probably because the lack of GPS reception in my house).
Also I tried using IFTTT but it is painfully slow.

So I figured if I’m home - I’m connected to wifi and if I’m anywhere else I’m on 3g/4g.
(I’m really don’t connect to any other wifi so it’s perfect for me).

Is there a way to configure a virtual switch to respond to the state of the wifi connection and 3g/4g connection?
So it will show:
if wifi is connected Switch is on.
if wifi is not connected Switch is off.

I saw this solution by @Fuzzyligic but it is for android only… I use iPhone…

Any help will be grate!

thanks,
Gil

Do you happen to have a Google OnHub? They added IFTTT integration and you could do this.

Hi @Automated_House,
No, sadly I don’t have OnHub… I use a generic router from my Internet service provider… :disappointed:

Being on iPhone you’ll likely find this a lot more difficult as Android offers multiple solutions (using ASUSWRT, Tasker + Sharptools, etc).
