Tradfri with Hue bridge instead of smartthings hub?

hi Guys, i was wondering if someone could help.

I started off with the Hue lights and hub starter kit which was easy, but i dont seem to be able to get smartthings to recognise new Tradfri smart plugs.

Everything seems to say i need a smartthings hub, but I didnt think it was required anymore.

Is it just that i’ve not tried to pair the plugs closer enough to the hue bridge :?

A SmartThings hub is required for zigbee or z-wave devices.

thanks, i think i went wrong from the offset thinking that the hue bridge would act as a smart things hub, obviously it doesnt.

looks like i’m shopping for more stuff again :confused:
