I’ve got a Trådfri bulb setup to my bedroom. It’s the " TRADFRI bulb E27 WS opal 1000lm" setup as ZigBee White Color Temperature Bulb on Smartthings.
Currently the bulb is behind a regular light switch, so it powers on and off from there.
Is it possible to set up automation / smartapp / something that would allow me to set up the brightness and temperature based on time?
For example between 9:00 - 22:00 if the bulb is switched on (from the light switch) it would have 100% lightness and cold white color and if it’s switched on between 22:01 - 8:59 it would light up with 5 % lightness and warmer white.
There’s a Smartapp on the old classic app called Gentle wake up that would probably do the morning then create a second one for the evening.
Problem is if the light has been switched off by the light switch it might not work properly as it will be “booting” up first and re connecting.
Just tried, Gentle wake up won’t do what I want. It would require light switch to be on all the time and it would do a wake up dimming on specified time.
I also tried setting an automation on the newer app checking if the time is between 8:00 and 22:00 and the light is “ON” it would be dimmed to wanted settings, but seems that the automation doesn’t get the “ON” state when coming on from offline mode.
So you can either replace the switch with a smart switch or put a smart relay like a Shelly1 behind your light switch that’s there now.
Or even cheaper stick some tape over the switch to stop them being turned off and set up all the automations you need.
