I am currently waiting for a Remotec ZXT-310. My entertainment room has several different IR controlled devices; TV, Sound, Lights, Light Strip, and a Dyson Bladeless Fan. I would love to control all these devices through this IR transmitter. I understand basics of coding, but it’s been years since I even dealt with any kind of coding and currently don’t have much time to try to learn and understand this device and how to build the device type and SmartApp for it. It supports a database of IR codes for different devices and can also learn codes for devices.

+1 this would be nice. harmony is good but it is limited in running routines. I would like to be able to jsut send individual commands to devices from ST.

I know this is a really old post, but if you’re still waiting for the Remotec ZXT-310, it’s a great product and I’ve created a DTH for it.

I didn’t implement the database of IR codes because most of the list is for TVs and it doesn’t include codes for any of the devices I own. Another reason I didn’t implement it is that changing the code list number for a channel wipes out all the custom codes learned for that channel and I think those are a lot more important.

Universal remotes are a lot cheaper so instead of trying to implement a fully functional remote I focused on making it usable with SHM and Smart Lighting.

[OBSOLETE] Remotec ZXT-310 Z-Wave-to-AV IR Extender

I won’t be converting this DTH into an Edge Driver so it will stop working once the Groovy platform is retired. This is a device handler for the Remotec Z-Wave-to-AV IR Extender (Model: ZXT-310). General Information The device handler provides 6 sets of 9 buttons which allows you to learn up to 54 IR Codes from other remote controls. Each set of buttons can be configured to use the internal IR Port or any of the External Ports. The device has 5 external ports and comes with 3 - 6’ external cables. You can specify triggers for the 9 buttons. The options are Switch On, Switch Off, Switch On/Off, and Momentary Switch Push.
