[ST Edge/Beta] Xiaomi/Aqara/Tuya zigbee sensors driver

Yes work fine!

Hi @Diegocampy ,
What kind of router devices do you have?
Aqara is known to have compatibility issues.

I did not understand.
You mean, what zigbee devices that act as a repeater do I have? If so, I have, vimar switches, and nothing else zigbee powered, just battery-powered sensors that don’t act as a router

@Diegocampy
Right, Aqara might have a compatability issues with different routers. Please take a look at

Vimar is not listed in this post. If the problem persists, I would suggest to check battery and consider adding compatible routers

I understand, and actually I have always had problems with Aqara, even before EDGE. But now unfortunately I can’t even see from the IDE if they are connected to other devices. Replace the VIMAR I exclude it, they are all my home switches … more likely to throw the Aqara in the dustbin if they still give me a lot of problems. Thank you for the explanation.

I have a contact sensor that kept dropping off the network. Have used your driver to reconnect it. Hopefully it will fix the issue. Connected easily. I assume the battery refreshes after a few hours ?

@Jeff_Gallagher Aqara normally reports battery status once in 50-60 min, so you should see the updated value within 1 hour or so.
My driver does not have a special handling to address the disconnection issue, it uses the default health checks, implemented by Edge. So, unfortunately it is not expected to be better than any other edge driver in this regard. However, if you previously were using DTH, it might be different.

It helps now that I can see the signal strengths

At -54 and and LQI of 255 I know it won’t be the signal strength if the drop off again.

I suspect it’s too close to the microwave oven.

Tested a few of the contact sensors and they are working perfectly. Do all Edge devic handlers work locally, and do you know if there are any edge drivers for Aqara Motion sensors with the LUX detection?

@Jeff_Gallagher
Edge drivers run on the hub, so all drivers are the same in this regard.
There are rules, however, what can be executed locally. Automations with devices from cloud to cloud integration, for example, will run on the cloud.

Regarding the driver for Aqara Motion sensor.
I’m using only edge drivers that I write myself, so unfortunately can not recommend any.
However, there is a wiki page for edge drivers to try to use and test
https://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.php?title=How_to_Quick_Browse_the_Community-Created_SmartApps_Forum_Section#Quick_Browse_Links_for_Edge_Drivers

As a side note, I received Aqara Motion sensors 2 days ago, so I’m planning to add support for the specific model that I have (there are several flavours). It will take a couple of days though and some more time for testing

Thanks again. I hope you have the same models as me :relaxed:. If you need anyone to test etc. let me know. I have a spare hub so I can do whatever tests without impacting on my main setup

How is the testing Going on the RTCGQ11LM.

All my other Xiaomi. Devices are very stable and working well. I’ll have a play around with it this evening

Perfect again, Thanks. It’s waiting on the battery to update, but the PIR and LUX are working well.

only who is a beta user was able to install the driver and use it on the contact sensor?

@niquini I think everyone who has compatible hub can install it.
Beta program is for users who are willing to install early/beta releases of hub software

got it using your driver. Very good. Taking advantage… do you know if it will be possible for a driver to control wled?

@niquini Could you please elaborate what are you trying to achieve?

a lan driver that could connect to wled. I don’t know if the driver applies to lan connection situations
